Taylor Bean was born in Logan Utah, but his parents moved to Burley, ID shortly after he was born. He grew up in the Burley area on a family farm and loved participating in sports.
He attended Brigham Young and Utah State Universities after High School as well as serving a Spanish-speaking mission in Houston, TX.
Taylor and his family have lived in Chico, CA since 2015.
Gretchen was born in Lexington, KY and she and her twin sister were adopted by her parents a few days later. At the age of 5, they moved to Gridley, where she and her siblings grew up surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. After high school, Gretchen attended BYU, studying elementary education. She later transferred to Chico State when she married Rob Harrison and she graduated with a BA in Liberal Studies. Gretchen and Rob just celebrated their 32nd anniversary.
Amanda Melanchuk was born in Sacramento, CA. Her family moved to Folsom, CA when she was 16, a move that seemed traumatic at the time. Since then, she has lived many places including Provo, UT for BYU, Romania for her mission; Zibo, Shandong, China; Kyiv, Ukraine; Seattle, WA; El Dorado Hills, CA; St. Cloud, FL; and finally, Chico, CA for the past 4.5 years. She has 5 children that keep growing up, and a patient and smart husband.
Leon Randall, originally from North Dakota, grew up on a family farm and developed a passion for music from a young age. He earned his Private Pilot license at 18 and married at 20, adopting particularly in Vietnam and Liberia, where he has traveled numerous times. After working in construction and fabrication, he shifted to nursing, becoming the Director of Surgery for 25 years. He has been married to his wife, Sharon, for 40 years.

Michelle was born in St. George, UT, and moved to Mesa, AZ. Her dad's job with LDS Social Services took them to California, Australia, Seattle, and Texas. She studied at BYU and ASU, where Michelle married Matt Romano. After practicing architecture briefly, she left her career to raise their 5 kids in Boston, where they lived for 25 years. They recently moved to Orland to help Matt’s mother. She enjoyed art, woodworking, and had marquetry featured in LDS exhibits.

Maddy Watts, raised in Paradise, married Rob Watts in 1969. They moved to British Columbia, raising 4 children, then to Everett, WA, becoming Volunteer Firefighters. In 1987, they returned to Chico, where Maddy served as a K9 handler for 24 years. Rob passed away in 2016. Maddy enjoys her family, 12 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, and the peace of the Gospel and nature.

Kathie Turner came to Paradise 36 years ago with her husband and six children. Raised in a small town in northern Wyoming, she developed a love for nature, learning, and family. Through life’s twists and turns, God’s mindfulness of His children has always been a constant.
On Aug 20th (today) Jeanette Keables will celebrate the 40-year anniversary of her baptism. She joined the Church at age 19. Three months later she met her husband Curt who had been baptized in Paradise just three days after she joined. They are the parents of 8 children and 24 grandchildren. She is especially excited for October when the both start serving in the Feather River Temple.

Pete Carr came to Chico 20 years ago. He graduated with a degree in business and a commission as a lieutenant in the Air Force. He is the City Manager for the Town of Orland. Pete and his wife, Julie, raised 4 children and now enjoy 10 grandchildren. He loves serving in the Church and even gets in a game of pickleball from time to time.
Tamba Sellu is from Sierra Leone on the West Coast of Africa where most of his siblings were also born. He has a degree in hospitality, is married to Lisa and they have a precious daughter named Sia. Tamba holds the role of Area Director of Sales for three Marriott Hotels and finds joy in serving in the church.

Jon Warren grew up in Bakersfield, California. He married a native of Paradise, Susie Matthews. Jon served a mission in Haiti and has been a practicing CPA for 21 years.
They have 5 children and Jon served as a Bishop in Paradise and now as First Counselor in the Chico Stake Presidency.

Ren Fairbanks moved to Paradise in 1950 with his parents when he was 1 years old. He was very active in sports and earned the Outstanding Athlete Award for the 1967 graduating class. His educational and farming experiences are inspiring. He and Marilyn have 6 sons, 20 grandkids, and 2 great grandkids.

Emily Vail was born and raised in Paradise. She left for a short time to attend Rick College which is where she met her husband Nathan. After Nathan graduation from college they moved back to Paradise, where they raised their three children. Emily has had several tragedies in her life but she always tries to stay positive and looks for the Lords hand during the hardest days.
Debbie Cornelius, a fourth generation "Petalumian" moved from Petaluma to Chico in 1972. She enjoys a wonderful life full of family, love, and laughter. She also enjoys landscaping, sewing, knitting, family history, and writing family stories. Richard, her husband of 50+ years passed away in 2022. Debbie is also a licensed cosmetologist.
Dale Madsen was born in Provo Utah but since the age of 6 he has called Chico home. A mission took him to Brazil and then his education took him to BYU where Dale met and married Jo Anne Stone. More schooling in San Francisco and a dental practice in Chico. Family has grown from 6 children to 25 grand children. Family, faith, and service have led to a life full of joy.
Part #1: Dorrie was born in Los Angeles in 1933 in the middle of the great depression. As a child she lived all over southern California, mostly in coastal and desert areas. Her father was a road contractor. Her mother was an RN. They divorced when she was 9 yrs old. In April of 1951 Mel, her husband, was sent off to Korea and was gone for 18 months. They had 4 sons.
